Nick Duane Harvey, born May 21, 1981, to Edward Harvey and the late Jeannie Cosgrove, passed away surrounded by the love of his family.
Nick was a man who lived life with passion and purpose. He had a deep love for his family, cars and motorcycles. Nothing brought him more joy than working on engines, fishing and vacationing with his kids and wife, as well as, having daily lunches with his father, brother and kids. Nick was gifted with a natural mechanical talent and had an incredible ability to bring just about any motor back to life with the simple turn of a wrench—a skill that defined both his work ethics and his character.
Nick began his career in asphalt at Lakeland Asphalt around the age of 18. Through dedication and hard work, he later joined Michigan Paving, where he built a lasting career and was a foreman to an amazing crew. He earned the upmost respect from those who worked alongside him for the remainder of his life.
Above all else, Nick was a devoted family man. He was a proud father to Brooke (Zach) and Nathan Harvey, who were his entire world. In 2011, he met the love of his life, Heather. The two were married on October 20, 2018. Through their union, Nick gained a beloved bonus daughter, Brynn Boswell, whom he loved as his own and completed their family.
Nick was also known for his incredible sense of humor, sarcasm and one liners (“better than nothing, uncle Nick!”). He had a way of making everyone around him laugh, bringing light and joy into any room he entered.
Nick was preceded in death by his mother, Jeannie Cosgrove, his uncle Donnie Harvey and his grandmother Joan Harvey. He is survived by his loving wife, Heather; his children, Brooke (Zach), Nathan, and Brynn; his father, Edward; his brother, Scott (Carlene); his nephews, Rodney (Angela) and Jacob (Rachael); his niece, Jasmine (Parker); and his many cousins & family, friends and coworkers who will forever cherish his memory.
Nick will be remembered for his strength and dedication, his hardworking and fighter spirit, his unmatched mechanical skills, his humor, and most importantly, the love he had for his family. His presence, laughter, and strength will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, April 10, 2026 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, Battle Creek where services to celebrate Nick's life will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday, April 11, 2026.
