Norma L. Storm

Norma L. Storm, age 85, of Richland, MI, died peacefully at home with her family at her side on Monday, August 21, 2023. 

Norma was born in Battle Creek on July 27, 1938, the daughter of Norman and Helen (Crapo) Coash.  She graduated from Battle Creek Central High School with the Class of 1956 and furthered her education at the Mount Carmel School of Nursing.   

Norma was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.  She was known for her quilting talents of more than 50 years and was a founding member of the Portage Quilters Guild. She also served as a quilting teacher, had several of her works published in project books & magazines and was recognized as the 1999 Quilter of the Year.  Hear Norma’s quilting story at https://thequiltshow.com/blog/quilters-save-our-stories-with-norma-storm

On June 29, 1957 in Battle Creek, Norma was united in marriage to Jerald “Jerry” Storm; he sadly preceded her in death on June 6, 2013.  Surviving are her two daughters, Jeanne (Tom) Losey of Battle Creek and Karen (Steve)Szotek of Paw Paw; three grandchildren, Thomas Losey, Amanda (Danny) Ho and Anthony Losey and by two great grandchildren, Raven Losey and Daniel Ho. Norma was also preceded in death by her parents; and her sister, Shirley Palmer. 

At Norma’s request, cremation has taken place and no services are being planned.  In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to her family.
