He earned an Associates’ Degree in Business from Michigan State University and later worked for Kellogg Co., and as a sales representative for Ralston Purina in Rochester, NY. Norm returned to Battle Creek in 1995 and changed careers - he truly found his calling as he became an employment counselor, assisting disadvantaged populations obtain and retain employment.

Most of all he loved his family and his dogs. On September 2, 2005 he was united in marriage to Roberta “Bobbie” Sage. The two enjoyed spending many years with their children, grandchildren and extended family.

Norm is survived by his wife Bobbie Harden; children, Laura Winters, Greg Harden, Jeff Cartright and Erin Moynihan; grandchildren Keith, Tiffany, Mael and Indio; many great-grandchildren; sister Robin (Joe) McVeigh, brother Brian (Leslie) Harden; and special daughter Noel Seymour.
