Norman Porter, 77, of Battle Creek, died October 4, 2022 at home surrounded by his loving family. Norman was born September 14, 1945 in Stockbridge, MI to Silas and Leona (Banks) Porter. He worked as a ultrasonographer at Albion Community Hospital and Henry Ford Allegiance Hospital for many years.
Norman loved to work in the yard and be outside. He also enjoyed woodworking and the restoration and collection of antiques. A true family man, Norman's main passions in life were his children; and especially his grandchildren.
Norman married the former Mary Crowley on June 18, 1966, who survives. Also surviving are their children, Elizabeth (Lee) Schultheiss and Michelle (John) Stuart; four grandchildren, Zachary Stuart, Brenna Stuart, Ryan Stuart and John Schultheiss; a sister, Louise (Larry) Lindemer; two sisters-in-law, Carolyn Storrs and Kay Crowley and many nieces and nephews.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents and two granddaughters, Isabella and Sophie Schultheiss.
A Funeral Mass to celebrate Norman's life will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, October 14, 2022 at St. Philip Catholic Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass, starting at 10:00 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Ronald McDonald House in Ann Arbor or to the Battle Creek Community Foundation Cancer Control Coalition of Calhoun Country Endowment Fund.
