Ona S. Lewis

Ona S. Lewis, 88, of Battle Creek, died January 1, 2023. Ona was born June 5, 1934 in Battle Creek to Randolph and Elizabeth (Nagel) Russell. She graduated from Lakeview High School and shortly thereafter married E. Duane Lewis on July 10, 1955.

Ona enjoyed bowling and spending time with her family. She worked at Meijer for 25 years and was a founding member of the Meijer Retiree Club. She was a lifelong member at the First Congregational Church.

Ona is survived by her two children, Janet (Fred) Aebli and Russell Lewis; two grandchildren, Hillary (Nate) Boyd and Bethany Aebli (Jeff Johnson) and three great-grandchildren, Max Boyd, Oliver Boyd and Cyrus Lewis. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Duane and her parents.

A memorial service to celebrate Ona's life will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, January 21, 2023 at the First Congregational Church. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, starting at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Centrica Care Hospice. Arrangements by the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care.
