Pamela J. Gettys, 70, of Springfield, died November 25, 2024. Pamela was born February 27, 1954 in Kalamazoo to Otto and Virginia (Rice) Reinbold. She graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1972 and earned her associate’s degree from Kellogg Community College. She worked for many years as a business manager at local radio stations.
Pamela enjoyed sewing, reading, watching Hallmark movies, but most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She would often travel with them to the zoo, the Henry Ford Museum, Greenfield Village and Frankenmuth, among many other places.
Pamela is survived by her daughter, Alicia Towery; two step-sons, Jeff Gettys and Jason (Michelle Hammel) Gettys; her grandchildren, Ryan, McKenna, Anthony, Hannah, Jay, Emma, Kylie, Shilo, Dakota, Tempest and Velle; her great-grandchildren, Kayden, Madilyn, Tucker, Myles and Unni; two sisters, Kathleen Cook and Nancy Drenth; her step-father, Jack Cook; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
Pamela was preceded in death by her loving husband, Robert Gettys; her parents; a son-in-law, Larry Towery and a grandson, Justin Mastin.
A private interment will take place at Fort Custer National Cemetery and a memorial gathering will be Sunday, January 19, 2025 at 2 pm at the American Legion Post #298, 228 20th St, Springfield.
