Patricia Lynn (Vaughn) Clark of Battle Creek, MI, passed away unexpectedly Monday, August 21, 2023. “Patty” was born March 14, 1956 to Ray Vaughn and Mabel Knewitz in Battle Creek, Michigan. She married David Thurman, Sr. in 1979 and they had one son, David M Thurman, Jr.
 
Patty enjoyed spending her free time with family and had a variety of interests and pastimes that she enjoyed by herself and with friends and family. She loved horses and horseback riding; looking for that next fabulous find at antiques stores or garage sales; gardening and, of course, storing all that home grown goodness by canning. Patty was artistic her whole life show casing her talents in drawings, basket weaving, crafts, and ceramics, often sharing her artwork with family. She loved the outdoors and frequently fished with her mom in her youth. Patty especially loved spending time with her nieces and nephews with sleepovers and games. Her faith and closeness to God sustained her with the last few difficult months of her ill health.

Patty is survived by her son David and his spouse Naomi; her siblings Denise and Bruce; nephews and nieces, Linda, Skip, Melissa, Bruce, Shannon, and Trisha; and grandchildren Braden, Blake, and Alyssa. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Dennis and Charles.

Her family wants Patty to know she will be missed dearly and that we have a lot of good memories with her. Her son thanks her for being so loving and teaching him about family.
