Our beloved sister, mother, aunt and scholar, Patricia Mrozovich has passed away due to complications from a car accident on May 21, 2024.

Patricia was a graduate of St. Philip Catholic High School in 1962. She continued her academics at Kellogg Community College, but took a break to move to Chicago. There she worked as a secretary at Two First National Plaza on the 23rd floor for a vice president at McKinsey. During that time, Pat took Journalism classes at Northwestern in the evening. Earning straight A's in every class; she was offered a full scholarship, but declined, married and moved to Los Angeles.

Pat switched careers in West Hollywood; and became an underwriter for unique insurance policies, writing and assessing yachts, exotic cars and all sorts of difficult to insure property. Her son Philip was born in Los Angeles, but Pat missed the climate of Michigan (?!) and returned to pursue her academic goals.

Pat, while working at the Michigan Secretary of State in Battle Creek, commuted to Michigan State University in East Lansing and completed her Bachelor of Science degree in Agricultural Science, graduating with honors and named the Valedictorian of her class.

She then transferred to the Michigan Department of Agriculture and became an Agricultural Scientist, retiring in 2012. Pat had a love of animals and raised rabbits, chickens and her close companions, her two German Sheperd Dogs.

Pat is survived by her son; Philip Rose; her brother, Michael Mrozovich; her sisters, Joanne Mrozovich and Mary Zima; and numerous nieces & nephews

Funeral services to celebrate Pat’s life will be held 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Cremation Preneed Care, Battle Creek where the family will receive friends after 12:00 noon.  Interment will follow at Hicks West Pennfield Cemetery.
