Patti, age 53, passed away Saturday morning, September 26, 2015 at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo, MI, following a lengthy battle with breast cancer and surrounded by her loving family.

Patti, the loving daughter of Paul J. and Mary L. (Mealey) Price, Jr., was born in Glendora, CA on August 2, 1962 and moved to this area from California in 1998. She was a 1979 graduate of Fountain Valley (CA) High School and received her Masters Degree in Education from Western Michigan University of Kalamazoo, graduating Magma Cum Laude, maintaining a 4.0 average while caring for her husband, Tim, their three sons and the household! Patti had been a First Grade Teacher at Valley View Elementary School of Battle Creek for 15 years, until her illness forced her from the classroom she so dearly loved. She was a member of the Gull Lake United Methodist Church of Richland; the Michigan Education Association; Breast Cancer Awareness and many other organizations to numerous to list. Patti was a constant reader especially her Bible; loved to garden; thoroughly enjoyed her pontoon rides on Fine Lake with Tim at the end of the day, but her true passion in life was taking care of the "Scott Boys!"


Patti was united in marriage to the "Love of her Life," Timothy Ray Scott in Newport Beach, CA on December 20, 1980. Surviving to mourn her loss is her husband of 35 years, Tim; her three sons, Kevin R. Scott (United States Marine Corps) Brian P. Scott (United States Army) and David C. Scott (attending Grand Valley State University) Grandville, MI; her parents, Paul and Mary Price of Chula Vista, CA; her sister, Lisa A. (Richard) Smith of Orlando, FL and many nieces and nephews.


The Funeral Service to celebrate Patti's life will be held on Thursday, October 1st at 10:30 a.m. in the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel, 9170 East D Avenue (M-89), with the Rev. Rebecca L. Wieringa, Pastor of Gull Lake United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will follow in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI. Immediately following the committal service, family and friends are invited to the Gull Lake United Methodist Church Social Hall, 8640 Gull Road, Richland to continue Patti's life celebration with a time of fellowship and a luncheon. Patti's family will greet friends on Wednesday, September 30th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Patti's honor may be directed to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, 60 East 56th Street, New York, NY 10022.
