Patricia Ann Stetler, 84 of Battle Creek passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022. "Patti" was born in Harvey, Illinois to M. Gordon & Harriett (Hoque) Bull of Benton Harbor. She graduated from Benton Harbor High in 1955 and went to Michigan State University where she met her husband John F. Stetler. They graduated together in 1961 and moved to Lancaster, Ohio with their daughter Susan. Daughter Annette was born in Lancaster and the family moved back to Battle Creek in the fall of 1962, where John went into the real estate business with his parents.
Patti was president of the PTA at her daughters' school, she was a Camp Fire leader and also a Girl Scout leader. She was past President of the Historical Society and a member of the Junior League of Battle Creek. She taught Gourmet Cooking classes at both KCC and Harper Creek in the Community Education Dept. In recent years Patti was a founding and active member in the philanthropic group "Women Who Care".
Patti dearly loved her family and friends and had such fun times with them. She loved Tole painting and water-coloring with the Tuesday Bunch for the past 30 years. Patti really enjoyed traveling. She organized many trips for herself and John both foreign and domestic. Patti and John always extended the dinner table at holidays to their "surrogate" family. Patti's Fourth of July parties were famous!
She leaves her husband of 64 years; daughters, Susan who recently retired as a math instructor at KCC and Annette who is owner of Stetler Construction. She also leaves three brothers and seven nieces, nephews and their families. Patti was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, John Bull.
Friends will be received Wednesday, 4:00 â 7:00 p.m., June 15, 2022 at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. A service to celebrate Patti's life will be officiated by Pastor Mike Wicks 2:00 p.m., Thursday June 16, 2022 at First Presbyterian Church, 111 Capital Avenue N.E
