Patricia Svekric

Patricia F. Svekric, age 82, formerly of Battle Creek, passed away on Friday, January 10th in Bloomington, MN. Pat was born March 17, 1931, the daughter of Alfred and Helen (Kosnosky) Raufman and was raised in Cleveland, Ohio. Pat received an accounting degree from Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio. She met her husband Frank of 54 years while working at General Motors in Cleveland, OH.

Pat was deeply involved in the Battle Creek community and served as President of the Hospital Auxiliary Board three times. She also volunteered with the Civic Theatre Guild, Volunteer Bureau, St. Joseph's Women's Guild, and SW District of Hospital Auxiliaries. Pat worked as a Realtor for Pearse Realty for 18 years before she retired.

Pat is remembered by her son and daughter-in-law, Mark Svekric and Donna Reynolds, of Grand Rapids, MI and daughter Beth Forseth, and son-in-law, Brian Forseth of Jordan, Minnesota. Pat has three grandchildren; Tully Svekric, of Ann Arbor, MI, Rory Svekric of Kalamazoo, MI and Thomas Forseth, of Jordan, MN. Pat has a brother Charles Raufman (Judith) and a sister Monica Knooihuizen (Donald) all of Hudson, OH, and many nieces and nephews. Pat enjoyed playing bridge, golf and bowling.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband, Frank J. Svekric in 2010, her parents and a brother Donald Raufman.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday January 17, 2014 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with a luncheon to follow. A private interment will follow.
