Patricia Eloise "Granny" Worthington of Battle Creek, MI
Granny, age 93, died Friday evening, August 14, 2020 at her residence with her loving family at her side.
Pat, the daughter of William and Ida Mae (McRoberts) Pearson, was born in Battle Creek on July 4, 1927 and was a lifetime resident. She embodied the true meaning of "Housewife," for all aspects of raising their own children to taking care of five generations. Granny was even known as "Baby Grandma" at the white house Day Care. She enjoyed the out-of-doors and loved her hanging baskets.
Pat was united in marriage to Kenneth R. Worthington in Angola, IN on July 12, 1950 and he sadly preceded her in death on March 3, 2001. Surviving is her daughter, Debbie M. Frantz of Battle Creek; three sons, Ronald L. Worthington of Battle Creek, Kenneth R. Worthington of Vermontville, MI and William E. (Tammara) Worthington of East Leroy, MI; 12 precious grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren and her sister, Mildred Guile of bossier, LA. Granny was also preceded in death by her parents; a granddaughter, Katherine L. Worthington on March 2, 2019; Richard Erven Frantz Febuary 21, 2005; two daughters-in-law, Shirley A. Worthington on November 27, 2019 and Robin Worthington in 2017; three sisters and a brother.
The Graveside Service to celebrate Granny's life will be held on Wednesday, August 19th at 1:00 p.m. at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens, Battle Creek with the Rev. James L. Sparks of Battle Creek, officiating. The Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek is assisting Granny's family.
