Paul E. Kuchenbuch, 98, of Gull Lake, died Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Borgess Medical Center. Paul was born March 17, 1918 in Connersville, IN to Albert and Mary (Mae)Kuchenbuch (Pritchard). He married the former Kathleen "Kay" McClimon in 1948 and the couple bought a home on Gull Lake where they resided their entire lives. He worked as a Staff Manager for The Prudential Insurance Company for 37 years before retiring in 1983.
He was a Certified Life Underwriter (C.L.U.). During retirement he worked at GullLake View Golf Course for many years as a course ranger and pro shop staff member.
Paul took great pride in the fact that he served in the Army during WWII. He was honorably discharged in 1946 after having achieved the range of Staff Sargent.
Paul loved the outdoors, and enjoyed hunting and playing golf. He followed Indiana High School Basketball closely and had tickets to the Indy 500 for many years. Paul was a long-time founding member at St. Ann Catholic Church where he was an usher and lector. He was also a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Assembly 513.
Paul is survived by his wife, Kay; two daughters, Diane Dalm and Debra Butterfield; a son, Joseph Kuchenbuch; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents, Albert and Mae Kuchenbuch, and sisters, Mildred Smith and Lucille Davis.
The family will receive friends at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel, 9170 East D Avenue, Richland, MI 49083 (269-629-6022), on Friday, May 13, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. with a rosary service from 7:30-8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial to celebrate Paul's life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 14, 2016 at St. Ann Catholic Church, 12648 East D Ave., Augusta 49012, officiated by Father James F.
