Paul S. Steele

July 15, 1958 — October 14, 2024

Battle Creek, Michigan

Paul S. Steele of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away Monday, October 14th, at his home in Arizona. Born in Battle Creek, Michigan, on July 15th, 1958, to David and Patricia (Gaffney) Steele, he was welcomed by his five older Steele siblings.

Paul graduated from St. Philip Catholic High School with the class of 1976. He continued his education at KCC and Western Michigan University, where he received his bachelor’s degree in economics. Paul joined the Kellogg Company in 1982 in the Plant Computer Room and worked diligently and loyally until his retirement in 2017 as Vice President of Packaging Procurement. Paul enjoyed traveling the world with the Kellogg procurement negotiating teams, pridefully representing the company worldwide.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, as family always came first. Paul served on the Battle Creek Area Catholic School Board for over ten years and received the Distinguished Alumni Award from St. Philip. Paul’s children and grandchildren were his pride and joy; nothing made him happier than time spent with all of them. Outside of work, Paul had a deep love for boating, golfing, and vacationing with his family.

Paul married Denise Martin on October 20th, 1979, in Croswell, Michigan; she survives. Also surviving are his children, Ryan (Colette) Steele and Matthew (Jennifer) Steele, and grandchildren, Brady Steele and Sawyer Steele. He is also survived by his sisters Patricia (William) Steele and Mary (Edge) Caravaggio, and brother William (Mary Beth) Steele and a sister-in-law, Carmen Steele. In addition, he leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. Paul was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, David and John Steele.

Paul’s compassion, generosity, fearlessness, and sense of humor will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
