Phyllis Jean Lutz

Phyllis Jean (Swartz) Lutz, age 74, of East Leroy passed away January 18, 2019. She was born in Battle Creek on March 4, 1944, the daughter of Earl and Marion (Hamilton) Swartz and graduated from Harper Creek High School with the Class of 1962.

Phyllis married John H. Lutz in Sonoma United Methodist Church on April 11, 1964. She worked as an LPN in various places, but worked at Battle Creek Medical the longest. Phyllis loved NASCAR and her favorite drivers included Alan Kulwicki, Mark Martin, Clint Bowyer and longtime friend Kenny Wallace. She was world famous for her chocolate chip cookies and banana bread. She loved her kitty cats and was preceded in death by what she considered to be her grandson, "a cat", named Adam.
She is survived by her daughter, Marcia; several grand-cats, a brother and many nieces and nephews.
