Randall J. "Randy" Stout, age 64, of Springfield passed away peacefully at home on Sunday evening, June 20, 2021 with his loving family at his side. He was born in Battle Creek on September 16, 1956, the son of Jearld and Elaine (Boyer) Stout. Randy graduated from Union City High School with the Class of 1974. He then faithfully served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 1974- 1977. After being honorably discharged, Randy furthered his education at Kellogg Community College. Randy retired as parts manager at DeMaagd Automotive in 2016, after more than 17 years. Randy continued to serve his country with the Oscar Brady American Legion Post #298 and its' very dedicated group of Legion Riders.
Randy married the "Love of His Life", Julia A. "Julie" Featherly in Dillion, South Carolina on February 19, 1977. He is survived by his wife of more than 44 years, Julie; his daughters, Tabitha (Josh) Byrd and Selina (Victor) McDonald, both of Battle Creek; his son, Nichalas (Ashley) Stout of New York; his brothers, Rodney (Sharon) Stout of Battle Creek and Perry Stout of Kalamazoo; 19 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Isaiah McDonald; his parents; and a brother, Jerry Stout.
Randy truly loved his family and spending time with his friends. He also enjoyed camping, fishing and riding his bike. Most recently, one of his greatest passions has been playing an active role with the American Legion Post #298 Legion Riders and helping out at as many events and veteran funeral flag lines as he could.

The family will receive friends 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, June 28th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek where services to celebrate Randy's life will be held 12:00 noon, Tuesday, June 29th. The service will be Live-Streamed and may be viewed at https://vimeo.com/566185505. Interment with full military honors will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday. Family and friends will continue the celebration of his life at Randy's American Legion Post #298, 228 N. 20th Street, Battle Creek, immediately following the cemetery services. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Post #298 American Legion Riders would be appreciated.
