Randy Eugene Clearwater of Battle Creek, MI

Randy, age 58, died Friday evening, July 29, 2016, at Bronson Methodist Hospital, Kalamazoo, MI, after a short illness and with his mom and brother at his side.

Randy, the son of Richard S. and Judith I. (Tripp) Clearwater, was born in Battle Creek on January 29, 1958. He had lived in Jacksonville, NC for 10 years; Tullahoma, TN for 5 years, before returning to Battle Creek. Randy graduated in 1984 from the Doris Klaussen Developmental Center. He was the consummate "Elvis Fan," having a large selection of his memorabilia and music and had even attended the "King's" last concert. Randy was a Gamer, enjoying hours with video games and loved to travel. He was a special man and will be greatly missed!

Randy is survived by his mom, Judy Brown of Battle Creek; his brother, Richard L. (Virginia Sue) Clearwater and their children, Thomas, Constance, Ella and Emma of Alexandria, TN; his grandmother, Nerva I. Tripp of Delton, MI; two step-sisters, Janie (Daniel) Bess of Winchester, TN and Lorna (Johnnie) Lane of Battle Creek; a step-brother, Norman Brown of Battle Creek; a ½ sister, Vicky (Lyle) Stokes of Battle Creek and his two closest friends, Wendy the Cat, who died in 2015 and now, Susie the Cat. Randy was preceded in death by his grandfather, Warrington Tripp in 1975; his father, Richard in 1965 and his step-father, John H. Brown in 1999.

The Funeral Service to celebrate Randy's life will be held on Wednesday, August 3rd at 2:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek with the Rev. Marshall C. Murphy, Pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Battle Creek, officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery, Battle Creek. Randy's family will greet friends on Wednesday from 12:30 p.m. until service time at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Randy's honor may be directed to the Doris Klaussen Developmental Center, 408 Jameson Street, Battle Creek, MI 49014.
