Ray Anthony Acosta

Ray Anthony Acosta, age 64, of Battle Creek passed away December 10, 2019. He was born February 22, 1955 in Pembroke, North Carolina and was the son of John A. and Flora (Acosta) Lowery. Ray graduated from Pembroke Senior High School with the Class of 1974 and faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Air Force. He enjoyed the outdoors and collecting various things.

Ray married Audrey E. Martens in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 21, 2015; she survives. He is also survived by his son, Jason A. Acosta; his step-son, Keith A. Welcher; his mother, Flora Lowery; his grandchildren, Jakoma Acosta and Nevaeh Welcher; his sisters, Sue Lowery, Wettea Lowery and Pauline Jacobs; his brother, Ryan Lowery; several nieces & nephews and a large extended family. Ray was preceded in death by his father, John Lowery; his brother, Stevie Lowery; and his step-daughter, Krystal Martens.

Funeral services with full military honors will be held 2:30 p.m., Friday, January 3, 2020 at the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek.
