Raymond Lee Walters

Raymond "Ray" Walters, age 65, of Battle Creek  passed away in the early morning hours of October 26, 2023  at Bronson Hospital in Battle Creek after a long period of failing health. 

Ray was born in Camden, NJ on August 27, 1958.  He moved with his family to Battle Creek in 1964; and lived in the BC area for the rest of his life. 

Ray was a proud 1977 graduate of Lakeview High School and also attended Kellogg Community College.  Ray worked locally at both Denso and Kellogg's over the years until retiring in 2018. 

Ray leaves behind his brother, Bryan (Judy) Walters; cousins, Scott Christ, Kristi Christ, and John (Jill) Christ; his best friend since childhood, Ed Kellogg; and his dog, Marius.  Ray was preceded in death by his parents, Barbara (Mason) Gray and William Walters, as well as his girlfriend of many years, Melinda Jacobs; who passed away in March 2023.

Cremation has taken place and no services are being planned at this time.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association. Arrangements by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Battle Creek.
