October 18, 1961 — October 8, 2023

Battle Creek

Rebecca “Becky” Dalene Cady, age 61, passed peacefully from this world into the arms of Jesus on October 8, 2023 after a lengthy illness.

Becky was born on October 18, 1961 in Marshall, Michigan the daughter of Earl and Donna (Weddle) Cady. She grew up in Marshall and, after graduating from Marshall High School in 1980, she took a position with Transamerica Insurance Company in Battle Creek. Years later, she began working for MidMichigan Medical Supply and completed her working career at the Battle Creek Enquirer & News.

Surviving are her mother, Donna Bunce of Battle Creek; daughter, Heather Poole (Jason Goff) of Battle Creek; son, Michael Dye of Battle Creek; brother, Nick Cady of Marshall; sister, Connie Faber (Kevin) of Ceresco; grandchildren, Justin Poole (Robin Gollakner), Taylor Phillips (Ian), David Dye, Alynna White, Maya Dye, Madison Goff, Liam Dye; great-granddaughter, Ridley Poole; special friends Mike and Annie Swartz and family; many nieces and nephews. Becky was preceded in death by her father, Earl Cady; stepfather, Gerald Bunce; daughter, Terri Ann White; sister-in-law, Starr Cady; great-niece, Mackenzi Loyer; great-nephew Isaiah Neeley.

Becky had a unique sense of humor and imagination, making her an entertaining storyteller. She loved camping and especially loved sharing these experiences with her grandchildren. She was an avid quiltmaker and crafter, knowing the best gifts were those that you put time into, giving many of her creations to family and friends through the years. Becky loved family gatherings and the more the merrier! Things were never boring for the family as games of water-slide kick ball or something of the sort would soon break out. Becky loved to travel and go to places that she had never been before, often taking these rustic trips along the backroads of the western states. Her re-living these adventures kept the family in stitches for hours! She loved playing bingo, singing karaoke, and country music.

A private family celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Arthritis Foundation. Personalized messages for the family may be placed at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
