Rebecca Carter Deloof

Rebecca Carter DeLoof went to meet her Lord on July 10th, 2018. Rebecca was born November 15, 1941 at home in Kalamazoo, MI. She grew up on a mountain in Russellville, KY and on a farm in Paw Paw, MI with her two brothers Joe and Harve Carter.

She attended the Dayton Country School graduating from Paw Paw High School. She attended KCC graduating as an LPN in 1983. She loved being a nurse working at many facilities in Battle Creek, Kalamazoo and Paw Paw. Rebecca had many interests including crafts, writing poetry, bible study groups and horses.

She shared her love of travel and music with her husband Jim DeLoof whom she married June 21, 1974. Rebecca and Jim had a country band named BJ Country Express.

She was preceded in death by her parents Mae and Will Carter, her brother Joe Carter, and husband Jim DeLoof. She is survived by daughters Maria Patterer, Kathy (Richard) Bennett, Theresa Lambert, brother Harve (Paula) Carter, step-children Amy (Dave) Pennington, John (Sherri) DeLoof, Suzanne Babrick and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. Donations may be made to Binder Park Zoo.

Friends will be received 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 17th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care where a funeral service to celebrate Rebecca's life will be officiated by Pastor Wendell Wood at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 18.
