Reva Eleanor Lutz, 102, died Saturday, September 2, 2017.

She was born December 31, 1914 in Kalkaska, MI and would later move with her parents to Petoskey, MI.

Reva was preceded in death by her parents, John and Enid (Groner) McCool; a brother, Marion McCool; a daughter-in-law, Louise Doxtator and a daughter, Sandra Kerr.

Reva married Allen Doxtator in 1935; he passed away in 1968. Later she married Leonard Lutz in 1977; he passed away in 1999.

Two children survive; Donald (Sharon Austin) Doxtator and Barbara Holevinski; six grandchildren, Kevin Force, Lori Browand, Richie Erskine, Tracy Dye, Jamie Erskine and Angella Cotter; several great-grandchildren and great great-grandchildren; a step daughter, Susan (Earl) Day; a step son, Steven (Vicki) Lutz; brother-in-law, Leo Lutz; sister-in-law, Marian (Jerry) Glubke and several step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.

Reva graduated from Petoskey High School in 1932. She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Battle Creek where she served on various committees and taught Sunday school for several years. She received a special Mission pin from the church. She organized and belonged to Calhoun County Extension Club for many years and was a member of the Eastern Star No. 471, and the TOPS Club 1085. She was also a member of NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees). She was employed by the Federal Government at Fort Custer, Aberdeen Proving Grounds, Maryland and Fort Knox, Kentucky. She was a real estate sales person for 25 years and took several college courses connected with the real estate business.

In the winter she spent time in Trailer Estates Mobile Park in Bradenton, FL. In Florida, she belonged to the Yacht Club; a member of the Park Fire Auxillary and the Camera and Video Club. She, with her husband, Leonard, conducted the Newcomers Club for several years. Reva planned and conducted bus trips for the residents. She and Leonard were in charge of a bike club, which she continued on with after Leonard's death.

Reva loved the outdoors; camping, hiking, fishing and hunting. She especially loved to travel. She also enjoyed dancing. Reva liked to entertain her family and friends with jokes and stories.

In 2015, Reva moved to NorthPointe Woods Assisted Living, where she died peacefully. Visitation will be held Thursday, September 7, 2017 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Funeral services to celebrate Reva's life will be 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 8 at Christ United Methodist Church, officiated by Pastor Brian Steele. Interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Petoskey at a later date.
