Richard James "Dick" Fate

Richard James "Dick" Fate, age 85, of Battle Creek passed away Sunday evening, October 21, 2018. He was born in Battle Creek on September 28, 1933, the son of Frederick and Naomi Fate and served his country as a member of the United States Army and United States Air Force. Dick retired from Smith & Graham Roofing after more than 40 years of service and was a member of the RWAW Local 70. Dick enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his son, Randy. He also enjoyed fishing and drinking his Budweiser.

Dick is survived by his wife, Anna Jane Fate; his son, Randy (Stacy) Fate of Battle Creek; two grandchildren, David Tullis of North Dakota and Chelsea Dalek of Battle Creek; and a sister, Jackie Brooks of Indiana; He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

At Dick's request, no services are being planned. In lieu of flowers, memorials directed to the Veterans Helping Veterans SWMI would be appreciated.
