Richard L. Geno

Richard (Dick) L. Geno, 76, of Battle Creek, died January 16, 2019 at home surrounded by his loving family. Richard was born January 20, 1942 in Battle Creek to Melvin and Rena (Botbyl) Geno. He graduated from Lakeview High School in 1960 and married the former Janet Jones in 1963. He worked for the Kellogg Company, retiring in 1996.

Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, golf and being outdoors. He routinely met with friends for Friday morning breakfast or to play cards. He especially loved to spend time with his family and attending his grandchildren's extra-curricular events.

Richard is survived by his wife, Janet; his son Doug Geno, a daughter, Lynette (Sam) Lutgring; five grandchildren, Andrew, Zachery and Benjamin Geno, Alex and Brandon Lutgring and a sister, Nancy (Bill) VanHuysen. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Geno and a sister, Linda (Dave) Smith.

Friends will be received from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. Sunday, January 20, 2019 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Battle Creek. Funeral services to celebrate Richard's life will be at 9:00 a.m., Monday, January 21, 2019 also at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Hicks Cemetery.
