Richard G. Robinson, Jr., age 80 of Battle Creek passed away peacefully on Friday morning, July 10, 2015 at the Bronson at Home Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. He was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on July 29, 1934, the loving son of Richard G. and Beulah M. (Tallman) Robinson, Sr. and faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army. Richard worked as a meat cutter at Meijer and Kroger, and retired from the Kellogg Co. after more than 25 years.
Richard married the "Love of His Life", Betty Jo Allred in Battle Creek on November 12, 1953; she sadly preceded him in death on March 6, 2003. He was also preceded in death by his son, Timothy J. "Tim" Robinson on November 5, 2014. Richard is survived by his son, Michael (Donna) Robinson of Bellevue; his daughters, Connie (Jim) Heil of Bourbonnais, IL and Dawn (Cece) Robinson of Battle Creek; seven grandchildren, Cory and Kevin Robinson, Tom, Travis, Trent and Timmons Heil, and Taylor Reid; thirteen great-grandchildren; a brother David (Bonnie) Robinson of Battle Creek, and a sister, Dolores (John) Rusan of Battle Creek.
Richard was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing poker and going to garage sales and flea markets.
Funeral services with full military honors to celebrate Richard's life will be held 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 17, 2015 at the Fort Custer National Cemetery in Augusta.
