Richard C. Rugg

Richard C. Rugg, Sr., 72, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 20, 2018 surrounded by his loving family.

Richard was born on November 6, 1945, the son of John L. Rugg, Sr. and Verda (Baughman) Rugg in Marshall, Michigan. After graduating High School, he entered the United States Army as an engineer and later became an electrician, which he continued for 40 years.

Richard is survived by his daughter, Susan M. (Winifred) Rugg -Tuttle; grandchildren, Corey R. (Kim) Rhodes, Ray W. (Gigi) Rhodes, and LeaAnn N. Rhodes; his great-grandchildren; siblings, Thomas (Ruth) Rugg, Rose (HL) May, June (Dave) Beck, several nieces and nephews; and his dog, Lucy. Sadly, Richard is preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine F. (Keller) Rugg; his parents; his son, Richard Rugg, Jr.; and his two brothers.

Richard was an avid racer and hunter who loved spending time with his family. They will remember him for his kindness and always putting them first.

Family will greet friends on Monday, August 27th at Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, 105 Capital Avenue, N.E., Battle Creek, MI 49017 from 10:00 a.m. until the service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow to Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens.
