Richard V. VandeBunt, P.E., of Richland, MI
Richard, age 89, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 29, 2018 in McAllen, Texas, after a brief illness and with family by his side.
Mr. VandeBunt is survived by his wife of 58 years, Phyllis VandeBunt; his children, Lori Groce (John), of Fairview, NC; Heidi Roof (Ryan), of Climax, MI; Rebecca VandeBunt, of Houston, TX and his granddaughter, Sarah Groce. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be greatly missed.
Mr. VandeBunt served in the US Marine Corps and the US Army and graduated from Michigan Technological University with a Bachelor's of Science in Civil Engineering. He was employed by the State of Michigan until his retirement.
A memorial service will be announced for later this spring at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Richland Chapel (269-629-6022).
