Richard William "Rick" Gore, age 58, of Battle Creek, died suddenly on Saturday evening, June 22, 2013 at the Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo. He was born in Battle Creek on November 25, 1954, the loving son of Grover and Cylvia (Bunch) Gore and faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army from 1973 to 1975.
Rick is survived by his daughter, Angel (Dave) Egnor of Marshall; 2 sons, Richard Gore Jr. and Adam Lee Gore, both of Battle Creek; 12 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren; a brother, Lawerance Gore and several nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Brittany Gore; 3 brothers, Denver Gore, Elmer Gore, Floyd Gore, and a sister, Betty Love.
A true outdoorsman, Rick enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, grilling and going to flea markets. He also enjoyed singing, playing his guitar and spending time with his family.
The family will receive friends 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, June 27, 2013 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate Rick's life will be held 11:30 a.m., Friday, June 28, 2013. Interment with full military honors will follow at Fort Custer National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the family.
