Riley J. Campbell

July 27, 1993 — October 18, 2021

Riley James Campbell, 28, passed away on Monday, October 18, 2021.

Riley was born July 27, 1993 in Kalamazoo, Michigan to Rodney Campbell and Kalley McIntyre. He served his country honorably in the Marine Corps for four years. He was much loved and anyone who met him immediately liked him. He was a young man with many admirable qualities and an amazing role model for others. Riley loved to be outdoors and to go hiking and camping with his brothers. He enjoyed taking long drives with no destination in mind; some of those long drives came on his Harley. Riley had a dream of becoming a U.S. Marine when he was young. That passion started in the 5th grade when he joined the Young Marines. He completed that journey after high school and served 4 years in the Corps.

One of Riley's favorite pastimes was taking photos of things and sharing them with all, especially on social media. Wherever his explorations led him, he was bound to find the perfect opportunity to capture a photo. He was always happy to share these moments with all, giving insight into the way he saw the world as a profound and beautiful place. Riley also loved music and was always expanding his tastes.

Riley was a kind soul with nothing but the best intentions for everyone he met. Whether you knew him for a day or for a lifetime, you were sure to leave any interaction with him knowing what a caring, genuine, and positive person he was. He could talk in depth about anything for hours, and by the end of the conversation, it'd be about something totally different. Riley was always willing to listen if an ear was needed, to talk if advice was needed, or to joke if laughter was needed. No matter the situation, he would happily be there for you.

Riley is survived by his parents, Rodney Campbell and Kalley (Lee) McIntyre; brothers Shane and Cody Campbell; brothers James and Travis Nixon; sisters Rhaney Harris and Katie Jarrett; a grandmother, Marcia McIntrye and grandparents Ron and Margaret Tiller.

A celebration of Riley's life will be held (TBD) following interment and military honors at Fort Custer National Cemetery on October 26, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. Riley's family is being assisted by Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, Augusta Chapel. Personal messages and memories may be shared at www.farleyestesdowdle.com.
