Robert "Bob" Angell

Robert Lee "Bob" Angell, 78, of Battle Creek died peacefully on Saturday morning, March 9, 2013 at the Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. He was born on July 14, 1934 the son of Orville and Virginia (Daniels) Angell and graduated from Athens High School. Bob retired from the Kellogg Company after more than 37 years of faithful service.

Bob married Ora Mae Jackson in Athens, Michigan on December 5, 1953; she sadly preceded him in death on July 18, 2008. He is survived by his daughter, Jackie (Bob) Meredith of Battle Creek; two sons, James (Ginger) Angell of Battle Creek and Mike (Robin) Angell of Sunfield, Michigan; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; his beloved "Orville" the dog and two sisters, Kandy (Stu) Ackley of Battle Creek and Peg Brown of Delton. Bob was also preceded in death by two sisters, Sue Riggs and Taffy Hernandez.

Bob was a member of the Kellogg 25 Year Club. A very friendly man, he truly enjoyed talking with the many random people he would encounter during the day. Bob had a passion for old cars, motorcycling and desired to keep his cars and garage immaculate. He collected model cars & frogs and loved spending time with his family. Bob also enjoyed playing all types of card games, going to local softball tournaments and more than 30 years of traveling with Ora Mae and friends on their motorcycles.

The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday, March 17, 2013 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate Bob's life will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, March 18, 2013. Interment will follow at Floral Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to Lifespan Good Samaritan Hospice or the Taffy Hernandez Fund c/o Battle Creek Community Foundation.
