Robert D. "Curly" Bolinger, 88, passed away Saturday, September 5, 2020 at The Oaks at NorthPointe Woods in Battle Creek, MI.

He was born July 4, 1932, to Sanford and Margaret Bolinger, in Battle Creek, MI where he grew up. He was a 1950 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. Robert worked at Michigan Carton Company for 44 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of the 25-Year Club and of the Battle Creek Eagles #299.

Robert, lovingly known to many as "Curly" for his lack of hair, enjoyed snowmobiling, car shows, and tinkering with and driving around in his old Model A car and street rod. Some of his fondest memories were annual family vacations to Torch Lake and many trips to Las Vegas with Bonnie. Robert and Bonnie loved entertaining at their home, where family and friends enjoyed playing pool, listening to the juke box and taking turns on the pinball and slot machines. He also enjoyed watching the Detroit Tigers and Nascar.

Robert is survived by a son, Dan (Maxine) Bolinger; three grandchildren, Shannon Henckel, Blaire (Jake) Smith, and Erin (Jeremy) Andrews; four great-grandchildren, Carter and Ella Mann, Margaret Andrews, and Tucker Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Bonnie; son, Robert Bolinger, Jr.; granddaughter, Christina Mann; and brother, Richard Bolinger.
