Robert Allan Burghdoff, 52, of Battle Creek, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Bronson Battle Creek. He was born on May 10,1962, the son of David Orville Burghdoff and Glenna Mae (Hall) Burghdoff.
Robert graduated from Battle Creek Central High School in 1981. After school he served in the U.S. Navy as a cook. He worked as a nurse aid at the Battle Creek VA Medical Center retiring in 2006.
Robert is survived by his two son, Dusty (Nichole) Burghdoff and Andew Burghdoff ; his father, David (Rose) Burghdoff ; two step-daughters, Jasmine Terpening and Amanda (Mike) Eib; two brothers, Terry (Dawn) Burghdoff and Todd Burghdoff, Sr; seven grandchildren, Saphire, Elizabeth, Abby, Viola, Eric II, Collin, and Logan; Fiance, Dahlia Terpening; nephew, Todd (RoseMarie) Burghdoff Jr.; two nieces, Kayla Burghdoff and Candice Alexander; great niece and nephew, Haylee and Seth. He was preceded in death by his son, Robert Allan Burghdoff Jr. and his mother.
Robert was a die-hard sports and Michigan fan. He enjoyed all types of sports and computer games. He was a kind hearted family man who loved his kids and grandkids with all he had. He loved the Detroit Tigers, New England Patriots and Tom Brady.
A funeral service is planned for 1:00 pm, Wednesday, March 18, 2015, at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, with Pastor Randy Stewart officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral.
Robert will be laid to rest next to his son at Fort Custer National Cemetery with Full Military Honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan or Wounded Warrior Project.
