Robert A. "Bobby" Hamblin

Robert A. "Bobby" Hamblin, Jr., age 52, of Plainwell, MI, died unexpectedly Saturday, March 2, 2013 at his residence. Bobby, the son of Robert A. and Nancy J. (Enzian) Hamblin, Sr., was born on August 20, 1960 in Kalamazoo, MI. He was a lifetime area resident, who graduated from Gull Lake High School in 1979. Bobby was a licensed mechanic and worked at Mac's Garage in Augusta, MI for 25 years and currently at Stafford Farms of Richland, MI. He loved his work and thoroughly enjoyed a day on the lake fishing with his friends, or hunting in the forest and fields.
Surviving is his mother, Nancy J. Vander Salm of Richland; his sister, Diane (Colin) Kennedy of Naperville, IL; his brother, David Hamblin of Richland; two nieces, Maddie and Olivia Kennedy; his nephew, Alex Kennedy; his partner, Melinda Klerk of Augusta, MI; two special young adults, James and Tiffany, who called him "Dad" and a host of friends too numerous to count. Bobby was preceded in death by his father.
Friends will be received Thursday, March 7th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Richland Chapel, 9170 East D Avenue (M-89). The Funeral Service to celebrate Bobby's life will be held on Friday, March 8th at 11:00 a.m. at the Gull Lake Area Community Church, 9292 East CD Avenue, Richland, with the Rev. Todd J. TerAvest, Pastor, officiating. Friends will continue to celebrate Bobby's life with a time of fellowship and a luncheon immediately following the funeral service in the Church's Social Hall. The family will hold a private interment at the family plot in Cressey Cemetery and return to the luncheon to celebrate Bobby's life with friends. Memorial contributions in Bobby's honor may be directed to the Church. The Family requests Casual, Farm Attire for the service!
