Robert A. Niswander

Robert Allen "Bob" Niswander, 80, of Battle Creek, died Saturday, October 25, 2014. Bob was born June 6, 1934 in Battle Creek to Ivan and Onalee (Crandell) Niswander.

In 1953 Bob met the love of his life, Florence Arvilla Damren. The couple married in 1954. They were together for 60 years until her death in 2013. Bob was also preceded in death by parents, a sister, Donna (George) Putman, a brother, Benjamin (Tanya) Niswander, and two sons, Robert Niswander and Michael Niswander.

Bob is survived by a sister, Dorothy (Gordon) Fitzgerald of Battle Creek, two brothers, William (Brenda) Niswander of Battle Creek and Daniell (Cristal) Niswander of Holland, two sons, Thomas Niswander and Charles Niswander, both of Battle Creek, seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

Bob was a machinist all his life, working at Barker Manufacturing for 10 years, Clark Equipment for 32 years and Union Pump for 3 years. Bob enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to consider the American Cancer Society.
