Battle Creek

Robert Gene “Bob” Paulson, 87, of Battle Creek sadly left our world Thursday, April 3, 2025, after a life richly lived.

Bob was born August 10, 1937, in Battle Creek, son to Frederick and Winifred Paulson and was one of eight children. At age 15, he began working for his family business, Paulson’s Auto Electric. He was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School and then served in the Air National Guard for eight years. On August 9, 1958, he was united in marriage to Kathryn “Kathy” McGlynn. He spent much of his life working on cars, but he also worked for Associated Construction, Clark Equipment, and then Denso where he retired.

Bob had many interests he enjoyed fishing, swimming, boating, square dancing, camping, and snowmobiling. He loved working on cars and would always do repairs for family and friends. He would get great joy teaching his skills to his kids, grandkids, along with others if they seemed interested. He loved visiting family and friends. Bob was a devoted family man deeply loving and loved by his wife, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

Bob is survived by his wife, Kathy; daughter Cheryl (Dan) Steller; son Robert (Bob) Paulson Jr. (Sandy); grandchildren, Kevin (Alicia) Kreps, Morgan (Robert) Beller; Britney O’Brien; Kristopher “Kris” Paulson; great-grandchildren, Anthony, Corey, Summer, River, Atlas; sister Mary (Dale) Wagner; sister-in-law Wilma Paulson; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers Jack, Jim, and Art and three sisters Pauline, Margie, and Madeline.

His warm presence, sense of humor, facial expressions, love and kindness will be deeply missed by all that knew him. We would like to extend heartfelt thanks to all staff from Centrica Care Navigators Hospice, Bronson Advanced Cardiac Healthcare, Urology Specialists, Vascular Health Center and Davita Dialysis.
