Robert Thomas "Big Mo" Morris, age 63, of Battle Creek, passed away peacefully at his home on November 24, 2013 with his family at his side. He was born August 9, 1950 in Battle Creek, the son of John T. and Dorothy Morris. He retired from the Kellogg Company on January 1, 2000 after 30 plus years and a member of the Kellogg 25 year club.
He was an avid outdoorsman, hunting and fishing as time permitted with family and friends. He taught his children and grandchildren all to swim. They were the joy of his life. He had a strong relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and talked to many people to help ensure their salvation. He loved watching baseball, especially the Detroit Tigers. He will be sadly missed.
He married the love of his life, Georgina "Jodie" Briggs on July 11, 1970. He is survived by his wife of 43 years; his daughter, Heidi Maresh; his son, Robert J.T. (Kim) Morris; four grandchildren, Brittany, John, Jakob and Nicholas; a great-grandson, Kaiden; a sister, Shirley Tripp with a host of nieces, nephews and a special brother in Christ, Craig Brooks. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.
A visitation will be held 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Friday, November 29, 2013 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services will be held 10:00 a.m., Saturday, November 30, 2013.
