Robert Joseph "Rob" "Bob" Vocke, Jr., age 56, of Battle Creek passed away at his home on Tuesday evening, September 1, 2015 after a hard fought and courageous battle with Cancer. He was born in LaGrange, Illinois on October 24, 1958, the loving son of Robert J. "Bob" and Le Anne (Curd) Vocke. Bob graduated from Lakeview High School with the Class of 1977 and continued his education at Western Michigan University, graduating in 1982 with a Bachelors in Business Administration. Bob worked as an independent businessman with his father in the family business for more than 20 years.
Bob married the "Love of His Life", Carla Girolamo in Cleveland, Ohio on August 27, 1988. He is survived by his wife of more than 27 years, Carla; his son, Nicholas Vocke; his mother, Le Anne Vocke; his brothers, Cris (Kriste) and Damon (Maria) Vocke; his sister, Laura Le Vocke; his sister-in-law, Gina (Rich) Meyers; his brothers-in-law, Joe (Laura) and Mike (Kim) Girolamo, and several nieces & nephews. He was recently preceded in death by his father Robert J. "Bob" Vocke Sr. on June 30, 2015.
Bob was a member of the Cereal City BNI and a strong promoter of Junior Hockey. He was a former golf coach at Lakeview High School for the boys & girls teams. Spending time with his family was his favorite, but he truly loved golfing with friends and family, as well as golf & ski trips with his lifelong friends.
Bob was always the "Life of the Party" (Sometimes too much so)!! He enjoyed talking politics with anyone who would listen. He often put others before himself, always offering to help out anyone, anytime, with just about anything. The original inventor of "Vocke Time", he was often fashionably late, but this time he has truly left us way too early.
