Robin Foondle

June 10, 1953 — July 25, 2023

Robin Foondle, born June 10, 1953 (70 years of age) a beloved father and friend, formerly of White Cloud, Michigan passed away July 25, 2023, at Borgess Hospital.

Robin is survived by his children; Angela (Aaron) Everhart, Nathan (Erica) Foondle, as well as grandchildren; Lynnaya, Vanessa, Jaden, Matthew, Lillie, Rachel, Kenneth and Samantha. In later years Robin was blessed with a friend that became a true companion, Cindy Dykehouse. Her children Jenny (Dick) Anson, Craig (Kendra) Wendt, Adam (Wendee) Wendt truly loved him as a constant presence in the family. His grandchildren: Blake, Evan, Aron, Luke and Grace will miss him deeply. Also surviving, his dear friend Steve Cronkhite, whom Robin enjoyed adventures and conversations with.

Robin was preceded in death by his parents Fred and Gertrude Foondle. Robin was the rainbow baby born two years after the loss of brother “Buddy” to spinal bifida, sadly before the first birthday.  He lost his big brother Michael Foondle, most recently, and shared stories of their childhood trials and tribulations as brothers.  Robin was the last of his surviving siblings.

Robin was born to Fred and Gertrude Foondle. He was raised with some of his siblings in the family home his father built.  He graduated from White Cloud high school in 1971. Robin married Joyce Allers (Foondle) of White Cloud MI. They welcomed two children, Angela and Nathan, and later moved to the Delton, MI area where both children graduated high school.

Robin was a jack of all trades and was very skilled in repairing small engines, mowers, tools, as well as the restoration of tractors as a hobby. He did the tearing down, painting, and putting back together of the body and rebuilding of the engine. He took pride in the meticulous work in bringing old machines back to life. He worked his lifetime primarily in the golf course industry as a groundskeeper and maintenance professional at many mid and SW Michigan golf courses and country clubs. Later in life he worked in groundskeeping as well, but as an installer of lawn sprinkler systems, which he quickly became known as the best of the best. Robin loved his work out of doors just as much as he enjoyed playing golf, spending time with friends working in the shop painting, restoration, tinkering, and repairing while having beer and sharing jokes. Robin was so witty with an amazing sense of humor. He would gladly help anyone that needed his skillset and if he could not, he knew someone who could and would get you connected. He loved to hunt and fish and did as often as was possible. He shared his hobbies and interests with his kids and grandchildren when they were young and shared his knowledge about how to fix stuff with anyone that wanted to learn his tricks of the trade. He enjoyed watching the GRIT channel for western movies; loved Monday night football and NASCAR as well.  Robin was an amazing smoker of meat on his grill and entertained many events with his delicious food. He has always had a dog or two in his life and had, most recently, Bella. She had given him purpose in his movement to take care of her as well as keeping each other cozy and comforted. She mourns along with his family and friends. Robin was an all-around likable guy to acquaintances and one who would gladly give up his comforts to know that his family and friends are okay.
