Roger L. Blain, 81, of Battle Creek, died November 23, 2022. Roger was born August 22, 1941 in Zeeland, MI to Milo and Julia (Huizenga) Blain. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Army and went on to work for the City of Battle Creek for many years before his retirement.
Roger loved racing cars when he was younger and was a huge NASCAR fan. He enjoyed doing puzzled in the winter, fishing and tinkering around in the garage and with lawn mowers. Along with his wife Ginny, they watched many old westerns, especially Gunsmoke.
Roger is survived by his loving wife, Ginny; children, Brenda (Brian) Hoadley, Larry (Brenda) Clark, Steve (Laurie) Clark, Mike Clark, Julia Carter, Patricia (Leroy) Feltner, Jim, Barb, Mavolyn (Lyle) Ferrill and Samantha (Matt) Titus; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Shirley (Leonard) Noorman and Ruth Bigley and a brother, Lyle (Jean) Blain. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be Tuesday, November 29th, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. A graveside service to celebrate Roger's life will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, November 30th at Fort Custer National Cemetery. Memorial donations may go to a Human Society of one's choosing.
