Ronald F. France

Ronald F. France, 67, of Springfield, died Thursday, March 3, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. Ronald was born June 3, 1948 in Battle Creek to Floyd and Violetta (Covert) France. He graduated from Battle Creek Central High School and was drafted into the U.S. Army. He served in the Vietnam War, earning the Bronze Star Medal and a Purple Heart. After his time in the service, Ronald worked 42 years at United Steel & Wire.

Ronald enjoyed watching NASCAR and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. He especially loved his dog, Amos.

Ronald is survived by his two sons, Ronald (Melissa) France, Jr. and Tony (Dahlia) France; 8 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and a sister, Judy Reynolds. Ronald was preceded in death by his grandson, Nathaniel France and a sister, Joy Hess.

Funeral services to celebrate Ronald's life will be 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care. Interment with full military honors will follow at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, starting at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of choice.
