Ronald Dale "Ron" Moss

Ronald Dale "Ron" Moss, 83, a lifelong Battle Creek, Michigan resident died peacefully with his family at his side, on Monday, January 17, 2022.
Ron was born October 3, 1938 in Battle Creek, Michigan the son of Ralph D. and Margaret J. (Brown) Moss. He was a 1957 graduate of Battle Creek Central High School. He grew up working at his parents Sip-n-Nip Drive Inn. While in high school he met the love of his life, Elizabeth "Tootsie" Verga. They were married May 24, 1959 and spent 59 years together.
Ron was employed at Clark Equipment Company for ten years, prior to 1968, when he purchased Hoff's Hardware in Wattles Park. In 1986, he and his wife purchased Moss's Grocery in Burley Corners and shortly after moved to Loon Lake.
He retired in 2001. After retirement, he and his wife spent time traveling and spending time with their children and grandchildren.
Ron was one of the founding members of Automotive Engineering Club, which was super-modified race cars in the 1950's. He was involved with Boy Scouts, Wattles Park Men's Club, Lions Club and the Battle Creek Regional History Museum. He enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Surviving are his sons, Timothy (Teresa) Moss and Mark (Cindy) Moss all of Battle Creek, MI; daughter, Donna (Tom Wood) Bray of Cape Coral, FL; six grandsons, Bret (Kerri) Moss, Kurt (Stephanie) Moss, Nicholas (Cherielynn) Moss, Matthew (Jessica) Moss, Samuel (Natalie) Bray and Caleb Bray; eight great-grandchildren, Paige, Adelyn, Brynlee, Lucy, Taylorfaye, Caysen and Torilynn; and Treyson.
Ron was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth on September 1, 2018; his parents, Ralph and Margaret and two brothers, Ralph "Donnie" Moss and Darwin Moss.
The memorial service to celebrate Ron's life will be held 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at the Eagles Lodge, 19757 Capital Avenue N.E., Battle Creek, MI 49017. A private burial will be held.
