Ronald "Ronnie" Orrego

It is with a heavy heart and great sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Ronald "Ronnie" Orrego. A beloved husband, uncle, and friend. Ronnie passed away while he was vacationing at Gull Lake in Michigan.
Ronnie is survived by Ellen, his wife of 48 years and his nieces Wendi and Robin.

Ronnie was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 18, 1940, to parents Guillermo and Ruth. He is pre-deceased by his only sibling Niles.

Ronnie and Ellen met at Park Riding Academy by prospect park where he was working for the New York Police Department Mounted Division. They married on August 8, 1974 in Rumson, New Jersey and recently celebrated 48 years of marriage.

After retiring from NYPD, Ronnie worked for several years with his brother Niles as a carpenter for the New York City Carpenters Union. Several years later, Ellen had another ideal and found him a job driving a school bus part time. He really enjoyed playfully harassing his riders. He finally did retire when they moved to Shadow Lake Village for 15 years.

As an avid fisherman, he really loved the lake but split time golfing with friends. He also love spending time with "family", especially his god children and their children.

Ronnie left this world at his favorite fishing spot on Earth, Gull Lake, Michigan.

He will be missed by all who loved him and his wit.
