Ronald D. "Ron" Westafer, III of Richland, MI





Ron, age 29, died unexpectedly Monday afternoon, February 23, 2015 at Borgess Medical Center, Kalamazoo, MI.


Ron, the son of Ronald D. and Debora L. (Titus) Westafer, Jr., was born on October 1, 1985 in Kalamazoo; was a lifetime area resident and was a 2004 graduate of Comstock (MI) High School, where he lettered in Football and Wrestling. He was employed as a Landscaper for many years and was a member of the Solid Rock Bible Church of Delton, MI. Ron was an avid golfer, enjoyed disc golf and skiing of all kinds. He was also known for his "Culinary Traits," having fed many family members and friends over the years.


Surviving is his mother, Debora and Steven Wright of Kalamazoo; his father, Ron and Sheri Westafer, Jr. of Chandler, AZ; his fiance', Kelli Bowers and her two sons, Miles and Sylas Bowers of Galesburg, MI; four brothers, Nate (Krissy) McGlocklin of Portage, MI, Jeff Conarton of Mesa, AZ, Josh (Jessica) Conarton of Salt Lake City, UT and Erik Wright of Kalamazoo; his maternal grandparents, John (Phyllis Stambeck) Titus of Richland; his paternal grandmother, Sharon Westafer of Kalamzoo; his aunt and Godparents, Denise (Everett) Albee of Plainwell, MI; a cousin, Samantha Albee; his uncle, Terry (Trina) Westafer of Kalamazoo and cousins, Tyler and Jessica Westafer. Ron was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Ronald D. Westafer, Sr.


The Funeral Service to celebrate Ron's life will be held on Saturday, February 28th at 1:00 p.m. in the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home, Richland Chapel, 9170 East D Avenue (M-89), with the Rev. Roger A. Claypool, Pastor of the Solid Rock Bible Church of Delton, officiating. Interment will follow in Prairie Home Cemetery, Richland. Ron's family will greet friends on Friday, February 27th from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Ron's honor may be directed to Paws With A Cause, 4646 Division Street, Wayland, MI 49348.
