Rosanna Frye

Rosanna Frye, 96, of Augusta, died Sunday, May 10, 2015 at her home with her family at her side. She was born February 6, 1919 in Augusta the daughter of Edgar and Rose (Tobey) Streeter. She was a graduate of Augusta High School and in 1941 received her teaching degree from Western Michigan University. Rosanna taught physical education and math at Augusta Junior High School from 1945, until retiring in 1976.

Rosanna was united in marriage to Dwight "Skeeter" Frye on April 12, 1944 in Jackson, MI. Sadly, she was preceded in death by Skeeter on November 26, 1997. Surviving is her son Dana R. Frye of Augusta.

In addition to her husband, Skeeter, Rosanna was also preceded in death by her sister, Maxine Johnson; and her two brothers, George and Richard Streeter. Rosanna enjoyed going for walks and playing golf. She was a member of the Augusta United Methodist Church and life member at Augusta Custer VFW #7956.

A funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2015 with Rev. Jennifer J. Wheeler officiating at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle, Augusta Chapel; 307 N. Webster St., Augusta, MI 49012. A visitation will be held one hour prior at the funeral home.

She will be laid to rest next to her husband, Skeeter at Ft. Custer National Cemetery. Friends who wish may make memorial contributions to the Augusta United Methodist Church; 103 N. Webster St. Augusta, Michigan, 49012. Tel. (269) 731-4222
