Rose Marie Davison, age 77, of Battle Creek died Friday morning, February 6, 2015. She was born in New Kensington, Pennsylvania on August 29, 1937, the loving daughter of Logan and Mary (Cousins) Hooks. Rose retired from Post Cereals after more than 35 years of faithful service.
Rose married LaWayne R. Davison in Virginia on June 2, 1957; he sadly preceded her in death in 1992. She is survived by her children, Debbie Davison, LaWayne R. "J.R." (Gail) Davison, Mike Davison, and Kim Davison, all of Battle Creek; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; a brother, Logan (Wendy) of Pennsylvania; her sisters, Betty (Gerald), Cindy (Ron), Joy and Esther (Ed), all of Pennsylvania; and many good friends. Rose was also preceded in death by her parents, and a sister, Connie.
Rose was a member of the Post Retirees and attended the First Church of the Nazarene. She enjoyed going to the casino, traveling, bowling, and getting together with the girls from Post. Rose loved spending time with her family, but especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends 12:00 noon to 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 11, 2015 at the Farley-Estes & Dowdle Funeral Home where funeral services to celebrate Rose's life will be held at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Robert L. Zuhl, officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider making donations to the family or the American Heart Association.
