Rosemarie "Rommie" (Schnepf) Schuetz, 93, of Battle Creek died peacefully at Lakeview Assisted Living on Friday, October 1, 2021.
She was born Rose Marie Schnepf on October 7, 1927 in Detroit, Michigan the daughter of Joseph and Theresa (Stemmer) Schnepf. Rosemarie grew up in Detroit and was a 1945 graduate of Edwin Denby High School, and later attended Wayne State University. Rosemarie was employed at Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Company for 18 years.
Rosemarie was formerly married to Franz Schuetz. They raised their family while running the Lakeview Motel in Caseville, MI on the Lake Huron shoreline for 15 years. She also served as the Caseville Township Clerk, then as a Clerical Aide for the Bay County Health Dept. after moving to Bay City. Rosemarie moved to Battle Creek to be nearer family, living most recently amongst friends at Lakeview Assisted Living.
Surviving are two sons, Peter F. Schuetz of Miami, FL, Paul K. (Brenda) Schuetz of East Leroy, MI; her favorite grandson, Kevin P. Schuetz; and nieces Susan (the late Jack) Machuga, Nancy (the late Lee) McGraph, Judy (Paul) Macklem, and nephew Karl (Nadine) Korneffel. Rosemarie was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Anne (William) Divine and Theresa (Carl) Korneffel.
Rosemarie was a former member of St. Roch Catholic Church in Caseville, MI. She was an avid reader and loved placing orders with Willard Library for books to be delivered to her home.
A small family gathering was held on October 14th to celebrate her life. Inurnment for Rosemarie will be held at St. Roch Cemetery in Caseville, MI.
