Rosemary Marie (Renshaw) Davidson, 88, of Battle Creek died peacefully at Calhoun County Medical Care Facility on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.
Rosemary was born August 18, 1930 in Quincy Township / Branch County, Michigan to Fred J. and Gladys N, (Moore) Renshaw. She was raised in Coldwater, Michigan, was a 1948 graduate of Coldwater High School and received her Bachelor of Arts degree (Phi Beta Kappa) in 1952 from Albion College, specializing in Latin and Greek.
After her marriage, Rosemary was employed as a Latin and English teacher in Ionia, Lakeview High School, where she was the advisor of the Latin Club and also at Hickory Corners.
Rosemary Marie Renshaw was united in marriage to Marion Russell Davidson on August 17, 1952 in Coldwater, Michigan. Rosemary was preceded in death by Marion, her husband of 60 years on May 30, 2012; by her daughter, Susan M. "Sue" Bryte on June 10, 2015; her parents and a brother, David Renshaw. Surviving are two daughters, Mary Davidson of Stevensville and Diane (Tom) Augustine of Battle Creek; a son, John Davidson of Battle Creek; a grandson, Allen (Morgan) Patterson; a granddaughter, Samantha (Travis) Goodwin; five greatgrandchildren, Mackenzee, Silas, Ezra, Brady, and Linkoln; three sisters, Nancy Renshaw of Battle Creek, Carol Graske of Spring Lake, Virginia (Fred) Snell of Paw Paw; a sister-in-law, Vera Renshaw of Coldwater; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families.
Rosemary was a member of First United Methodist Church since March 4, 1962, where she sang in the choir most of those years. She was also an active member of the Battle Creek Area Doll Club, the Cal-Co Quilter's Guild, and the Southern Michigan Amateur Radio Society.
Rosemary will be remembered for her wonderful handmade dolls and doll clothes, hand-quilting (no machine work!) beautiful displays and making matching dresses for two little girls.
Friends will be received from 1:00 â 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at First United Methodist Church. A service to celebrate Rosemary's life will be officiated by Pastor Linda Farmer-Lewis 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at First United Methodist Church, 111 E. Michigan Ave., Battle Creek, MI . Fellowship will follow the service at church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Rosemary may be made to the Albion College Fund, The First United Methodist Church of Battle Creek, or the American Heart Association.
