Roy D. "R.D." Moore

Roy David Moore, age 65, of Battle Creek, went Home to be with His Lord on December 8, 2017. He was born in Battle Creek on June 25, 1952, the son of Roy and Myrtle (Parks) Moore. Roy owned his own business for years, "Moore's Fine Painting", and was known by his excellent painting skills. Roy was also known as "R.D." or "Dee" by his family and was a wonderful son, the "best" brother, uncle, husband, step-dad, and "Poppa" to his family.

Roy was preceded in death by his father, Roy Moore in 1989. He is survived by his mother, Myrtle Moore; his beloved wife of 28 years, LaNelle; his special aunt, Mildred Parks; his sister, Cheryl (KC) Jones; niece, Tricia (Bob) Kidder; nephews, Jerimiah and Nathan (Sarah) Jones; step-son, Ron (Lynda) Thurman; step-daughter, Jennifer (Junior) Gipson; a special friend, Shanley Collette and 6 grandchildren.

Roy was a very kind & gentle person, and was loved by all who knew him. He loved family vacations at his grandmother's home in Virginia, and so many cherished memories from his childhood. Roy had a special gift of music and learned to play the guitar and piano at an early age and would play with his family at the church his father Pastored. His music has blessed many people. Roy loved the old gospel hymns, classic car shows with his family & friends, as well as his "55" Chevy. One of Roy's favorite things to do was fishing, and loved going on family trips to Colorado, Canada, and Virginia, where he would enjoy the outdoors and lots of fishing. He will be greatly missed by all and forever Loved!! Till we meet again!!

A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held 11:30 a.m., Saturday, March 3, 2018 at the Rhema Word Outreach Center, 21342 Capital Ave. NE (M-66 North) Battle Creek, MI 49017 where a luncheon will be held immediately following.
