Russell M. Jones, 95, of Battle Creek, died October 30, 2015 at Bronson at Home Good Samaritan Hospice Residence. Russell was born July 5, 1920 in Assyria Twp., to Howard and Effie (Hanes) Jones. Russ worked as a route salesman for the New Era/Cains Potato Chip Company, retiring in 1995.
Russell loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting, fishing and trap shooting.
Russell is survived by his son, Craig (Patti) Jones of Dowling; two grandchildren, Brad (Kim) Jones of Battle Creek and Marci (Todd) Sieting of Clarkston; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Iris McCleery and his longtime friend, Mike Quartermaine.
Russell married the former Josephine Rambow in 1942 in Battle Creek. The couple was blessed with 72 years of marriage before she sadly preceded him in death on July, 14, 2014
A memorial service to celebrate the lives of Russell and Josephine will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 28th, 2015 at the Farley Estes Dowdle Funeral Home & Cremation Care, officiated by Rev. Jeffrey Worden.
