Russell C. "Red" Wofford

Russell C. "Red" Wofford, age 88, of Union City passed away Friday, October 30, 2015. He was born in Spring City, Tennessee on July 23, 1927, the son of Daney and Ida (Bunch) Wofford.

Red faithfully served his country as a member of the United States Army during WWII. For many years, Red worked for Clyde Hanger Plumbing & Heating and was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Local #333. He loved the game of golf, liked to garden, and always had a joke to tell.

Red is survived by his brother, John Wofford; and numerous nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his sons, William & Robert Wofford, and his brothers, Ralph, Richard, Raymond & Howard Wofford.

A graveside service with military honors to celebrate Red's life will be held 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at the Bedford Cemetery. As the welfare of animals was very important to Red, please consider making donations to the Humane Society of South Central Michigan, 2500 Watkins Road, Battle Creek, MI 49015.
